Frances Christley (Welsh Green Party) COUNTY COUNCIL
The Conservatives are making cuts to Wales budget, Labour are making cuts to the Powys budget and the Independents are making cuts to the Brecon budget. This is why our services are awful. The Green Party has always campaigned against cuts. Vote Green.
Rosemary Evans (Independent) TOWN COUNCIL
I am honoured to have been the Mayor of Brecon again this year and if I am elected as a town councillor for Llanfaes I will use my vast experience, enthusiasm and energy to serve the people of my ward and Brecon Town to the best of my ability.
Geoff Goodenough (Independent) TOWN COUNCIL
I am Geoff Goodenough. A local candidate for Llanfaes (St David's within ward) where I live. I want the honour of representing this ward, to take YOUR voice to Council and get things done. My commitment to this community is total and unbiased. Please vote for me on 4th May 2017
David Meredith (Labour & Cooperative Party) TOWN & COUNTY COUNCIL
David Meredith pledges that he will work towards: Creating opportunities for young people & investing in Schools, protecting services like Day Centres & Domicilary Care, supporting regeneration projects that improve Brecon, using the Council's buying power to save residents money and tougher action on fly-tipping, dog fouling & anti-social behaviour.
Steve Morgans (Independent) TOWN & COUNTY COUNCIL
I am standing for election as I feel the town needs change. Young blood, fresh ideas, and voting for these things needs to be for the benefit of the whole town not part of a political agenda. "We need common sense." The town needs a voice!
Martin Weale (Independent) TOWN & COUNTY COUNCIL
Currently a Town Councillor and not a member of any political party, Martin is the fourth generation of his family to live in his house in Llanfaes. He has championed road safety for many years. He is qualified in regeneration and is a Member of the Institute of Economic Development.
Matthew Dorrance (Labour and Co-operative Party) TOWN & COUNTY COUNCIL
I’m a strong local voice for St John ward with a proven track record, delivering the real Living Wage for Council workers, helping save our Day Centre and working with residents and the community to tackle the challenges facing Brecon. My priority is getting the best deal for our town.
Marie Matthews (Labour & Cooperative Party) TOWN COUNCIL
I have lived in Brecon for over forty years and have seen it go through many changes, some good some not so good. If elected to the Town Council I would like to work with the community to help maintain our public spaces and to offer assistance to local residents in an attempt to keep our town vibrant.
Iain McIntosh (Welsh Conservatives) TOWN & COUNTY COUNCIL
I’ve been running Young’s of Brecon for 23 years and I want to help raise Brecon to the standards of other local towns. Brecon has been left behind in recent years, we have poor recycling, too many empty shops, and expensive car parks. We need this to change. #BreconDeservesBetter
Rob Thomas (Labour & Cooperative Party) TOWN COUNCIL
I am one of the four strong Labour team standing for the Town Council in St John West. If elected, I will use my experience as a national Trade Union Officer to negotiate to improve key services in Brecon such as our parks and play areas. Labour cares about the local community. The conservative candidate only offers criticism and cuts.
Manny Trailor (Labour & Cooperative Party) TOWN COUNCIL
Brecon needs strong and diverse representation on the Town Council and I bring a unique perspective to this. As a young business owner and as a resident I know that Brecon needs a much more robust voice within Powys. If re-elected I will continue to fight for our great town.
Ann Mathias (Independent) TOWN COUNCIL
I have served as a Councillor since last June. I have run a business in Brecon and been Chair of the local Community Health Council. I am a Trustee of Flying Start at Priory School and actively support St John’s Family Centre. We should all work together for the good of the town.
John Powell (Independent) TOWN COUNCIL
I’ve been active around our community for years, and offer my wealth of experience, knowledge, and appetite for hard work. If you love Brecon, and care about looking after our town`s past, present and future, vote for a candidate with a passionate interest in wanting to create a better Brecon.
Chris Walsh (Labour & Cooperative Party) TOWN COUNCIL
A Strong and Experienced Local Voice. Committed to keeping and maintaining local services. Working in partnership and collaboration with residents to bring about change & improvements. Leading & facilitating Brecon moving forward.
Alexandra Ham (Welsh Green Party) COUNTY COUNCIL
We’re in an incredibly difficult economic situation and need a new approach to local politics. The loss of services to our most vulnerable people and the threat of climate change should be at the top of every councillors agenda. I will work hard to give Brecon a better future.
Nigel Evans (Independent) TOWN COUNCIL
I've been involved in many aspects of Brecon life and would like to use my abilities on the town council, I'd like to see more people vote in these elections - not just the well off - everyone. Use Your Vote. Find me on Facebook - 'Nigel Evans for Brecon St Mary Ward'.
Gren Ham (Welsh Green Party) TOWN & COUNTY COUNCIL
I'm Leader of the Wales Green Party but have never claimed expenses. I've set up companies that have earned £millions but run all them not-for-profit. I'm a qualified teacher and have received a Royal Honour for my community work. We need people like me running our Council.
Sarah Lewis (Conservative) TOWN & COUNTY COUNCIL
My family has lived in St Mary ward all my life and I live and work in this ward. I re-instated the Chamber of Trade last year and care about my town. I want to work together with councillors to help it get back on its feet. Residents, traders and visitors deserve better.
Mary Phillips (Independent) TOWN COUNCIL
I am a local business woman and work as Retail and Marketing Consultant. I have been your Independent representative on Brecon Town Council for the last ten years. I fully understand the issues and problems in the ward and the town at large and will continue to address them.
Roger Smart (Welsh Liberal Democrats) TOWN COUNCIL
I have lived in Brecon for four years and have four grandchildren in local schools. I am involved in Advocacy, Access Group and as a Brecon High School Mentor. I have been a councillor both here and Hertfordshire previously, so feel equipped to serve the community well.
