County Councillor Matthew Dorrance has secured new cash from Powys County Council to replace damaged equipment at Uplands Play Park.
Sadly, some items at the park had been damaged and were at risk of being removed but Matthew put pressure on the Council to make sure children and young people in St John Ward had access to a play park.
Following Matthew’s intervention, Powys County Council have replaced the broken slide with a tougher metal one and the missing basket swing has been replaced.
Matthew said:
“I’m really pleased that I have been able to secure the money to replace broken items at the park and it’s great to see young people from St John Ward enjoying the park again.”
Matthew has also secured £10 thousand from Brecon Town Council for fencing around the park.
