Due to a recent increase in the number of homeless people coming to Foodbank, and as the weather is turning colder, we are starting a new appeal to help our homeless clients keep warm and dry as most of them are living in tents. Some clients who have come recently have no cooking facilities and are therefore unable to take advantage of some items we normally give that have important nutritional value.
We would like to be able to offer:
lightweight bedding (for example sleeping bags and blankets)
cooking equipment such as pots, pans, army-surplus-style camping stoves (non-gas)
battery-operated lamps
5-litre bottles of water, as these can usefully be refilled and carried easily.
Items can be brought to St. John's Family Centre, Pendre Close, Brecon LD3 9EA. The centre is situated on the corner of Pendre Close, opposite the Priory School. We have free space for a limited number of cars, but please remember that the cathedral car park is now pay and display.
Thank you very much. More stories
