Presteigne: A spectacular evening of fireworks and a dragon fire sculpture.
Sheep Music, The Carnival and Presteigne and Norton Town Council are planning a spectacular firework display on Saturday 4th November at Went’s Meadow in Presteigne.
The evening will begin with the traditional parade through town starting from Presteigne recycling centre at 6.15pm. Children are encouraged to design and make a receptacle that will hold a (battery operated) tea light, which will be provided. This could be a small pumpkin left over from Halloween, a paper bag with a design cut out or anything that will let light through.
Parents and others joining the parade should bring any percussion instruments/pots/pans that will make a big noise to accompany the procession. Local fire spinner John Bray will lead the parade onto Went's Meadow and will then present a fire display with music preceding the ignition of this year’s fire sculpture.
This year to coincide with 2017’s Year of Welsh Legends, this years fire sculpture will be a dragon designed by local artist Owen Rimington.
The fireworks will begin on Went's Meadow at around 7pm and following the display it will be party time with the Poobahs playing in the barn. There will be hot food available, tea and cakes plus a bar.
Entrance £3.50, under 12 free. More on the website here https://www.sheep-music.co.uk/
