A trunk road in south Powys is to close next week for five days so that resurfacing works can be carried out, motorists are being warned.
Powys County Council has issued the warning ahead of the closure of the A479 from Talgarth to the junction with A40, south of Tretower for resurfacing works, which are being carried out by contractors on behalf of the Welsh Government.
The daytime closure will come into force on Monday, October 23 from 8am until Friday, October 27. The road will re-open each night at 6pm before full re-opening to all traffic at 6pm on Friday, October 27.
During the road closure, an official diversion route will be sign-posted to inform motorists of the closure. The diversion route is A479 to Bronllys, A438 to Pontybat, A470 to Brecon, A40 to Nantyffin to re-join the A479 and vice versa for traffic travelling in opposite direction.
