FRIENDS OF BRECON AND DISTRICT MIND
TWELFTH-NIGHT CELEBRATION
Saturday 6th January 2018, The Muse, Glamorgan Street, Brecon, 7.30 pm
£5 (Friends £3)
On Saturday 6th January the Friends of Brecon and District Mind are organising a twelfth-night celebration at the Muse, Glamorgan Street, Brecon, from 7.30pm. A warm welcome is extended to everyone.
We are fortunate that the Tea-on-Top Group, comprising well-known local musicians Laurie Pyle, Ade Williams, Jan Hurst and Jamie Huish, will be playing for us. They are also regular members of bands the Dolphins and Hershel's Barn. The group performs at the Friends' annual Tea-on-Top walk at the end of July to the top of Pen-y-Crug, Brecon, against the dramatic backdrop of the Brecon Beacons. On Twelfth Night the group will play lively sets of bluegrass and other musical styles including Irish folk music to which you may like to dance.
The festivites may involve a few games and, if anyone feels sufficiently moved, some open-mic winter poetry.
There will also be a finger buffet to which participants are encouraged to bring along a contribution although this is not necessary as some food will be provided. There will also be a bar and soft drinks.
The Friends support the work of Brecon and District Mind and raise awareness of mental health issues in and around Brecon, Crickhowell, Talgarth and Hay-on-Wye. It is open to everone and holds talks, walks, social activities and fund-raising events.
