The November Artisan Market, held in the historic Brecon Market Hall (organised by Emma Bevan of Artisan Events Wales), was a huge success and drew in many visitors. Each stallholder kindly donated a handmade item for the raffle, in aid of Calan DVS.
On Wednesday, Emma delivered £75 and a bag of items that were unclaimed raffle prizes, to the Calan office. The team were delighted and wish to express their gratitude to the stallholders and all those who bought raffle tickets - the manager said that the £75 will be spent directly on the children at the refuges, and the gifts will be wrapped and given to the women and children.
Usk House Hospice Brecon ran the cafe and also raised a whopping £800 for their Hospice. Emma would like to add her thanks to the generous visitors and 58 stallholders, and members of Soul’s As Seen , Christ College musicians and Hay Community Choir for their time.
Emma said “The community spirit at the event was amazing, and I can’t thank you all enough for coming along, whether as a customer, a stallholder, or one of the beautiful choirs, and making the day so fabulous!”.
The next Artisan Market will take place as part of the Brecon Women's Festival programme on Saturday 3 March.
