Cabinet member for Highways on Powys County Council , Liam Fitzpatrick , today said -
" I am very pleased to announce that I have had an incredibly positive meeting with Police commissioner Of Dyfed Powys police today , Mr Dafydd Llywelyn in which we shared our mutual serious concerns regarding speeding on our roads and affirmed our commitment to working together for Powys and the area. I have also met with the Chief constable and Traffic police officers and look forward to working with them throughout the area on speeding and related issues that affect everyone in our area . One of our main concerns was motorcycle speeding and i left very impressed with the recent track record of Dyfed Powys police who recently charged someone for speeding at 144 mph on Brecon By- pass .
I believe there are many ways we can work together in Highways across the board and look forward to future meetings ".
