Highways cabinet member , Liam Fitzpatrick , has said " The next few days are causing me great concern weather wise and the risk to our most vulnerable old and young and and even drivers on our roads - wherever they are going . The "Beast from the East " as they call the expected Arctic snow and wind chills could affect us all in Powys and it's always better to be safe than sorry afterwards . Obviously all the "Orange jackets " (Powys highways ) are ready as they were in December to help out where we can but we all need to look after our vulnerable and help out where we can . As Powys people we do this naturally and the cooperation between all the emergency services / social services / nhs / Powys Highways and other services is phenomenal and exemplary and may be put to the test again . "
"Let's all be careful out there - and if we can help in Powys highways - just let us know ". More stories
