We are very excited this month as Charlie Searle from The Green Valleys organisation has organised a seed swap at the Farmers Market.
What's a seed swap you may ask, well a ‘Seed Swap’, or Seed and Plant Share, is an opportunity for gardeners to break open their seed collections and trade in the ones they probably won’t use against ones they will. Most growers are seed hoarders so many seeds can go to waste. This event is about giving those seeds a chance to grow, saving money on buying new seeds, creating an opportunity to pick up new varieties, and making the event a social gathering where gardeners can talk about all things green and growing.
If you don't have any seeds or plants to bring along you'll still be welcome to select some seeds to take home so come along anyway.
Of course we'll also have our usual selection of producers with a range of amazing food and drink. Look out for Welsh cheeses, honey, jams and chutney, meat and poultry from local farms, freshly baked bread, takeaway meals, cakes and local ales.
We also have carefully selected craftspeople, some of whom will be demonstrating their skills.
We are open from 9.30 to 2pm with live music on stage from 10am so come along - it's nice and warm in the hall and our cafe will be serving snacks and soup. It's a social experience as well as an opportunity for buying great food.
