Swansea born composer Huw Warren presents his jazz suite Do not go Gentle based on the poetry of Dylan Thomas, and which reflects the inherent musicality of his words. The piece was commissioned by, and was first performed at, Brecon Jazz Festival for the Dylan Thomas centenary year in 2014.
The concert will feature Huw Warren on piano, Iain Ballamy on saxophone, Steve Watts on bass and Martin France on drums. Talented jazz musicians from The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama will support Huw Warren for the first set of the performance.
"Do not go Gentle is the culmination of a long held desire to create a project based on Dylan Thomas. Both my love of his poetry and the obvious connection of being born in Swansea. The touring version for 2018 includes new music, and a more theatrical setting and I'm very excited to be able to present it to audiences throughout Wales.” Huw Warren on the tour.
