Must agree with earlier correspondents regarding Powys County Council’s arrogant attitude towards the taxpayers and electors of Brecknock and their apparent lack of understanding that both Members and Officers are PUBLIC SERVANTS, paid for by us. The so-called “discussions” with Neath Port Talbot College in regard to accommodation within y Gaer have it seems, been going on behind closed doors for at least two years with absolutely no consultation with the funding partners,
with remarkably little input from representatives of Brecon/Brecknock and absolutely no communication with so-called Stakeholders. The incompetence and ineptitude of the County Council was demonstrated at the meeting by the total failure of the representatives to answer direct questions and either to hide behind bland assurances and meaningless phrases or simply ignore points raised from the floor.
To have attempted to run a major capital project without ever having appointed a Project Manager, and
have expected the
Museum Curator to take responsibility for the day to day organisation underlines the complete incompetence and naivety of our elected representatives, and probably goes some way to answering the questions regarding the huge overspend and financial mismanagement More stories
