The role involves weekend (Saturday two hours and Sunday two hours) cleaning of the Cathedral, Cathedral Shop, Tithebarn, Pilgrims Tearoom and associated toilets and transit areas. Other duties include the arranging of the areas involved for e.g. exhibitions, interactive children’s days, or other functions, as well as returning the areas to their standard configurations.
Hours of Work
The role is based on working after the Tearooms has closed. This is generally 6-pm-8pm although this may change as required for specific functions requiring later working. There may be extra hours to cover holidays and sickness.
Self-employed person required with a payment of £11 an hour. You must have your own insurance.
As the Cathedral shop etc are contained in the Cathedral Close, which is locked to the general public after the general access times, any change to the normal working hours needs to be communicated in advance, to alleviate any possible security concerns. This also means that anyone not contracted to work at the shop must not be on the site during these times.
