Criw Celf South Powys - Half-term 2020 – 11-15 yrs
Monday 17th – Thursday 20th February
The project boosts students’ artistic skills, knowledge and encourages creative careers. We introduce students to professional artists, makers and designers through inspirational workshops, studio and gallery visits, exploring different approaches to art and design. It’s a great opportunity to learn new skills and try new media all whilst making new friends from different schools.
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday – 3 x day long workshops exploring digital technology, drawing and painting, mixed media and ceramics at the Peak Studio, Crickhowell
(Artists tbc within the next fortnight)
Thursday – Gallery trip to Bristol to visit exhibitions at Royal West of England Academy, Spike Island and Arnolfini
Cost: £35 for the whole project including all materials and transport for the gallery trip. Course fees can be discreetly waived for those who feel unable to pay. Students who attend will be given a sketchbook, fineliner pens and graphite pencils which are theirs to keep. An informal exhibition of the work created throughout the week for students, friends and family will be held at the Peak Studio on Saturday 21st March 2-4pm. All work is available to take home to use in portfolios.
