Following last week’s announcement that Royal Mail may reduce postal services as more staff take sick leave (see link at end of article) an enterprising Merthyr pigeon fancier is offering a letter delivery service - by pigeon post.
Geoff Lambert told Fyi:Brecon that pigeons are already used to deliver information on camera cards so why not urgent letters? He’s training his prize birds to deliver letters within a 50 mile radius of his home in Troedyrhiw (which includes Brecon) and he estimated that they’ll be ready to start posting by the end of next week.
