News reaches fyi:brecon from Design Week of a new logo for the Brecon Beacons.
The new logo, created by designers Small Back Room and commissioned by the National Park Authority is based on 'the ideas of light' and the thought 'our national park'.
It was decided the Brecon Beacons’ character was, says Small Back Room, "A natural place with a colourful spirit. Where creativity comes naturally and creates unexpected everyday joys. Where people live in partnership with nature and she rewards by sharing her beauty and secrets."
The new look will be gradually rolled out across consumer brands from the area and materials from local authorities, the tourist authorities and local businesses.
A website, also designed by Small Back Room, will launch in April, and stakeholders will be able to download the branding as digital assets to apply themselves.

Small Back Room & Arkenford were commissioned by Brecon Beacons National Park Authority and Brecon Beacons Tourism on behalf of Brecon Beacons Marketing Co-ordination Group to develop and deliver a brand for the destination, which is attractive and distinctive to identified target audiences and attractive to and even inspirational for the people who live and work in the Brecon Beacons.
The brand was not intended to replace the Authority brand but was intended to be available for businesses and other organisations to use to promote the destination.
