Abandon War
Somewhere there’s a peacemaker with a gun against his head
Somewhere there’s a man who lied, lying naked and tied and dead
Somewhere there’s a boy who tried to kiss a lonely girl
And someone’s taking pity on this cruel cold harsh world.
Today there is a story of a man killed by a sniper
Tomorrow this boy will die after fighting with a Viper
In two days time a girl will lose her precious mother
And someone on a Saturday mourns the passing of his brother.
I remember when religion was meant to save mankind
I remember when all love was an easy thing to find
I remember most of all the love I had for you
And someone else remembered as people thought it true
But all we have is hatred, man has lost a friend
And now we all are frightened to make it to the end
Yet now we hope our children will love and set us free
And someone somewhere is crying for only death they see
So we shall stand together and defend ours from this hate
Together turning away the man bringing misery to our gate
We shall all remember what beauty we once saw
Tomorrow as a world my friend, we shall abandon war
