Brecon’s exciting new cultural attraction y Gaer is looking for volunteers to help it operate when it opens next year.
An open evening will be held at the town’s Ship Street Library on Tuesday November 6 between 6-7.30pm to highlight the exciting opportunities the venue will provide for both visitors and volunteers.
Work on the town centre facility, which sees the town’s Grade II* listed Brecknock Museum and Art Gallery fully refurbished and include a new library and community facilities, is nearing completion and the hunt is on for volunteers to help it operate.
Volunteers could be asked to help with projects such as, gallery invigilation, meet and greet, digital champions, retail support, library support, research assistants, gardeners, education and events support and much more.
Role descriptions will be available at the open day, so that those interested can understand what is needed to become a volunteer. Existing volunteers will also be on hand to discuss the benefits of giving something back to the community.
Contact Andrea Mansfield, y Gaer Volunteer Co-ordinator at andrea.mansfield@powys.gov.uk to book your place or further information about becoming a volunteer.
