Yscir county councillor Iain McIntosh has made a statement about Brecon High School.
"I'm very concerned to hear the recent news about Brecon High School. There appear to have been historic issues there with the school already being in special measures from 2014 to 2016.
According to a recent BBC report, school governors were criticised for failing to provide a "robust enough challenge" to senior staff on matters such as teaching standards and a "substantial" budget deficit.
Unfortunately the current chairman of the school governors isn't here to answer questions about why, during his watch, the school has stumbled from crisis to crisis, as he intends to stay on holiday in Nepal.
It's clear to me that with the school about to move to the newly built building, a totally fresh approach needs to be applied.
