Over the last few days I have been talking to residents and the three community councils within the Yscir Ward about anything we can do to help during the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak.
I am setting up a service together with the assistance of community councillors within the ward to offer assistance to any residents who have to self-isolate but don’t have access to food, general supplies or medication. This service will of course be conducted under strict conditions to negate the risk of passing on, or picking up, the virus.
A number of offers of support have already been received and I will be announcing the names and contact details of everyone in the Yscir team shortly. Many of the residents likely to require assistance may not use social media and will therefore not know about any help that is available without further notification. I would therefore request that if you know of anyone likely to require assistance, please inform them about this service once the details become available. I will also be creating a leaflet with further details to be circulated, any help available to distribute this within the ward would be much appreciated.
We can beat this virus if our community works together.
This service will of course be available to residents outside and near the Yscir Ward too.
